Kindle Book Organizer
If you use to keep your data organized, than the first thing that you would hate in Kindle – is that it doesn’t support folders. So all books that you copy to Kindle are displayed at the single level , regardless of in which folders they are located.
Of course, Kindle has so-called collections for book organizing. This is something similar to tags. However, the problem is that you just can’t easily turn your folders into collections. You will have to re-create collections and add books to them manually. And if creating collections can be quite fast, adding books to these collections can become a nightmare.
The fact that in Kindle you can only add books to collection only one by one. And taking into account that Kindle shows only 10 books on the screen, imagine that you have to flip through book list pages to find every book and add it to your collection.
And this not the only one drawback of the Kindle’s inbuilt book organizer. It also doesn’t allow to edit book titles, authors, covers. As for the covers, you can neither change them, nor display the list of books with cover thumbnails. And the Amazon Kindle Desktop application also does not help you with these tasks, because it displays only those books that you buy in Kindle Store, but doesn’t display those books that you uploaded to your Kindle.
But fortunately, there is a special program for managing Kindle on your computer, that allows you easily organize Kindle e-library. It’s Kindlean.
Simply connect Kindle to your computer via USB-cable and launch Kindlean. The program quickly scans your e-reader and displays the library with covers, titles, authors and descriptions. You can easily edit this metadata. It is particularly convenient to change covers – thanks to the integration with Google Images.
Moreover, Kindlean allows you to add metadata even to those book types that do not have metadata – i.e. TXT files. In your Kindlean library even such books will have a title, author, cover, description, etc.
In Kindlean you can easily create collections and add multiple books to them. You can also copy books to different collections. For example, one book may be contained in collections Stephen King and Mystery. In addition, in the Kindle book manager you will be able to create book ratings, sort books by any parameter, search for books by title and author.
All changes made in Kindlean will be synchronized to your Kindle. But you need to restart the e-reader each time.
You can download the free Kindlean here.
